Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed. The created item may be intangible (such as an idea, a scientific theory, a musical composition, or a joke) or a physical object (such as an invention, a literary work, or a painting). Creativity is a key skill for prosperity in any walk of life.

The advent of the internet has definitely made things much easier for mankind. Information is available literally at our fingertips. Google is just one tap away. But, with such information accessibility comes another problem. We rely on the internet for everything and hardly ever exercise our own brains to solve our problems. More often than not, when we are in want of a solution or face a hurdle in our lives, we resort to looking for a solution on the internet rather than tackling the problem with our own skill-set and knowledge.

Many might argue that the internet has actually increased our creativity. But what most of us fail to understand is that its “information” that has been made surplus and not creativity. A knowledgeable person can never be a substitute for a creative person. To explain this with a simple example, we all have come across that one guy/girl who used to mug-up the whole book before the exams. But, when a question out of the book was asked they would cry foul and falter greatly.

Talking about artists, they too can learn all kinds of techniques, skills, and what not on the internet but at the end of the day they have to come up with their own novel idea and the internet cannot provide it. Also, in this era of likes, upvotes, share, etc. artists have given way to crowd appeasement rather than expressing their own thoughts and ideas further weakening the cause of creativity.

Conclusion :-

The problem lies with us. We have started looking towards the internet to be our solution to every problem. But, it can only give us information and nothing more than that. The information may come from other people who you can easily connect to on the internet or from static sources. But, at the end of the day, we have to use our own creativity and intuition to come up with new innovative ideas and solutions.

Internet is definitely curbing our creativity. We can’t discuss this topic if we will not talk about children.Today in the era of internet it is easily seen that children don’t use their brain while doing their homework instead they just search it on google and find the answer,If they have to make a science project or a simple birthday card they just watch a video on you tube and copy paste that idea.Nowdays we use internet for everything we don’ try to find out answers by analytical thinking we just search it and find the answer,From internet we can find any information instantly but then how we will develop analytical mind ,because of internet people have left thinking by themseleves and analysis ,they only depend on internet for opinion they don’t have opinion of their own.

I don’t think so internet is curbing creativity because if we search something on the internet it provides us a number of ideas and thought which we can compare and contrast and make our own creative thing . When we are lazy or act as lazy or completely dependent on internet that if anyone opens any site and opened the firt site and copies the whole information than it is curbing or creativity many people often say read book it will increase your knowledge but if we buy books it is a very costly affair and if go to the library we will have to search many things and then only we will get through the point answer and if we will go through the internet we will get through the point answer in very short period of time and going to library and searching answer s to take a lot of time and now days time is money

Yes I think that internet is curbing the creativity of the 21st generation youths.. yes it is true that internet is a great source of knowledge and we can get everything what we need…. But it also has some demerits… It is destroying the creation of young people and making the mind dumb…. So we should use the internet in correct manner and try our level best to run our brain creatively….

Yes, I do think that internet is curbing the creativity of the young and energetic generation of the whole world. Creative things come up when a person sits concentrated and focuses on it but now he/she donot have the time to think as soon as he/she gets a few seconds of solitude he surrounds himself with the virtual world around them i.e the internet..So this hinders the actual creativity in him/her.
