Theme :-

  • Imran khan is elected as Pakistan’s new Prime Minister, and will take oath as PM on Aug 11th, 2018.

Positive side :-

  • In his victory speech, the new Pakistan’s PM Imran khan said that he is willing to improve Pakistan’s relations with India. He said ‘if India takes one step forward, we will take two’. He opined that peace between India and Pakistan will help both the countries. This gave everyone hope that Indo-Pak relations are going to improve.
  • By observing his speeches in election rallies, it is evident that he is serious about Pakistan’s economic crisis. To improve Pakistan’s economic condition, it is necessary to have good relations with neighbors.
  • Imran Khan has a long-term vision, which means he will try to make his country stable politically and economically. It will be a great thing for India, because having politically stable neighbor countries is very important for any country.

Negative side :-

  • Imran Khan said in his victory speech that Kashmir is the core issue between India and Pakistan. He also stated that there are human rights violations perpetrated by the Indian security forces in Kashmir. This may create a negative impact on Indo-Pak relations, as India believes that Kashmir is not the core issue between the two countries, rather terrorism is. And India already denied human rights violations in Kashmir by Indian security forces.
  • Till now, Pakistan leaders expressed their interest for peace talks but didn’t take further steps. If the new PM too does the same, there will be no hope for the better relations between two countries
  • Imran Khan supports China and its projects in Pakistan, whereas China is improving its relations with Pakistan to counter growing India’s influence in South Asia.
  • Several political leaders of Pakistan alleges that Imran Khan have ties with terror groups and Pakistan’s military funded his election campaigns. If it is true, there will be a threat of terror strikes for India, which will severely impact Indo-Pak relations.
  • As India is preparing for elections of 2019, peace talks may not happen till then.

Conclusion :-

It’s too early to predict the situation of Indo-Pak relations in the near future. However, Paistan’s new PM’s public statement on improving Indo-Pak relations is a positive sign. Let’s hope for the better relations and peace between India and Pakistan.

In my opinion the indo pak relation Can improve when the PM Imran Khan will take the initiative for the dialogue ,it can save our neighbor country from being isolated and Kartarpur corridor is also a good initiative for improving the relation of both countries. But it will only be possible with the best possible intention of the leaders of both countries . India is the 5th largest economy in the world,it can help Pak to counter the economic crisis in Pakistan.

The pak PM is talking about peace so according to logic we should welcome him .But before that pak PM have to proove he wants that and not pretending . Pak PM should take steps against terrorism in his country. He have to pass laws against terrorism.Only then a peace can be established between india and pakistan.

I feel the approach by the Pakistan’s PM is covered with positivism on the surface. Pakistan is a country wherein election result were predetermined and obviously parties were funded by terror groups. Objective of both countries is not same as Kashmir is the issue for one while terrorism is the issue for other. Imran khan naturally won the election backed by powerful people whose aims are not towards improving ties.As of now the new PM have shown great interest in the service of Pakistan and is considering every basic facility to be provided to citizens there, but w.r.t India, the relation could move anywhere as he is also being bound by the funding organisations.so conflict of interest arrives.

I think india pakistan relation never improve because pakistan government always support terrorism and the main power in pakistan taken by pakistan army not by pm.

In my opinion, if Pakistans new PM shows positive signs to improve indo Pak relation. But terrorism and funding to terrorism is the main issues between the dialogue. If Pak govt shows courage to curtail all these then we can think to make good relation. But the history proves that . there are many occasions where India and Pak tried to make good ties. But these were interrupted by the terrorist groups. We all know that Pakistan is himself badly suffering from this problem. Reputation of Pakistan is globally got down due to this. I think. Before inviting India for good dialogue. Pak new PM to think to improve their this reputation at world level. We all know that there are many terrorist organisations operating from their soil all also funding them in many countries. So we hope that Pak new govt would take stern action to stop all these. Without this new dialogue between India and Pak wouldn’t successful.

It’s good gesture posed by Pakistan’s nascent PM but seems like wild goose chase for Pak until it cracks down cross-border terrorism factory, flourishing in the State. Now India seems to be in no hurry, reflected by foreign policy, for any rapprochement. Pakistan must understand this as pointed out by our foreign minister that terror and talk cannot go together.
