Background :-

  • Ancient China was the first country in the world that implemented a national wide standardized test, which was called as ‘Imperial examination’ in 605 AD. The purpose of this examination was to select candidates for specific positions in the govt. This examination system was later applied to education.
  • In closed book system, the test taker was tested based on the memory to respond to specific items. In open book system, the test taker was tested based on the analyzing capability, test taker can use a reference book when responding to an item.

In Favor :-

  • Most of the exams’ pattern is not up to the mark to evaluate the real capabilities of the student.
  • Present examination system in schools is encouraging cramming.
  • There are many exams annually like daily, weekly and monthly tests. So, students barely has any time for extracurricular activities.
  • In present generation, schools and colleges are pressuring everyone including kids to get above 90%.
  • Most of the private colleges are not conducting practicals, they are just focusing on theoretical subjects to make their students toppers so that their college can become famous. By this students are not knowing the applicability of subjects.
  • Because of excess pressure of examinations some students are committing suicide.
  • Many Evaluators are giving marks based on number of papers without seeing the actual content. This discourages the students who have real worth.

In Against:-

  • Examinations help to evaluate an individual academically.
  • It helps the student understand the pressure which he/she will face in their professional lives.
  • Exams help in facing competition.
  • Exams help the students stay connected to their books, If there are no exams, most of the students don’t concern about studies.
  • Through Exams students can know the areas in which they are weak, so that they concentrate more on those areas.
  • If we qualify a person without exams, it may lead to critical situations like a doctor would kill many of his patients.

Conclusion:-

Examinations are not killing the education, but the pattern of exams is killing it. Questions must be in a way that check the students’ understanding of the subject. The weight-age of practicals should be more than the theoretical subjects. Exams must include projects, assignments and presentations to judge the actual worth of a student.

Exams are very essential for students life as im a 10th grade student , i live this life daily i use to give exam twice a week/every month 8-9 exams excluding physical esucational test! And the sentence that student dont do other activities , first of all it is all upon the student whether he/she is interested or not evreything depends upon selfinterest ! Apart of it examition help to face more challenges in life or to be fear free .The exam from your very lower class to boards is a step towards your own sucess and if the question arises about cheating , yes cheating happens every where but not everyone cheats the boy or girl who is cheating is cheating to his or her self. This is also about self interest . Something some difference makes a differnce between 2 good students 1) wrote everything by his or herself 2) wrote everything excluding of 6 marks which he/she copied from another both (1) and (2) scored same marks but there was a simple differnce in oral exam the 1st boy/girl spoke everything and the second boy/girl cant that is all about i wanted to say
Exams are very much important for students life as well as of a young person and oldperson also
    *Thankyou*

According to me Examination is very essential ,without examination higher authority cannot select appropriate candidate . Student they study to obtain the marks ,if there will be no examination system then they will not study , they will not concentrate. In Govt organisation people sit for examination to get the promotion of there will be no exam system then there will be difficult. To sit for everyone has to study and they get knowledge ,if they will not study how they will get the knowledge. In English medium school every week there is test because of students prepare themselves. But sometimes competition is not good, every parents they have desire they are children will get top this
    Is not good ,all the
Student they dont have same capabilities that time they get depress this not good parents has to take care of their children
