The impact of coaching centers on Indian education can be discussed under the following heads :-

  1. Parental Pressure: With the advent of an increased number of coaching institutes which offer life-changing opportunities (supposedly), parents feel obliged to send their children to these coaching centers even without gauging their child’s potential and inclination. Children, on the other hand, are pushed into something that they never intended to be a part of. This works for some students, but most of the others do not succeed.
  2. No fun in learning: Coaching institutes have only one purpose while teaching their students: to get them to IITs, NITs or AIIMS, GMC, etc. Under the pressure of competition, Indian students find fun and education to be 2 mutually exclusive parts of life.
  3. Erosion of moral values: Coaching institutes and in extension, the Indian education system is particularly plagued by this phenomena. Dog-eat-dog mentality is encouraged amongst students. Being isolated from the world is glorified by these coaching institutes. Achieving success by hook or crook is their mantra. Such beliefs and ideologies being inculcated in students at such a young age seriously compromise their prospects of being an effective member of the society in the future. These practices develop jealousy, selfishness, cunningness, etc. as the core beliefs in the children’s mind. A popular term in psychology, a “scarcity mindset” is developed in the students rather an “abundance mindset”.
  4. Ineffectiveness of the institutes: Often these coaching institutes have a strength of, on an average, 40-50 students in one batch. No child gets any personal attention (except the ones at the top). The pace of the classes is usually too fast or too slow for the majority of students. Individual doubts are also less likely to be seriously entertained at such high batch strengths.
  5. Commercialization of education: Famous coaching institutes, using the success stories of their former students, often try to get more students to enroll in their classes. This leads to a huge number of students in a single batch. Often they promise high and under-deliver.

Good morning friends, here i would like to put practical perspective in this topic. 1.Private coaching classes do not make compulsion to any students to be part of them. Its a student who voluntarily takes admission.
    2. Those classes offer more practice solving sessions than that of college to get perfection in the particular subject and if student is getting stress of this, that simply means he/she is not attending classes by his/her own will.
    3. Its a duty of a teacher, student and parents to focus on 3D development of student by practicing various skill based technique, which will reduce the attraction of private coaching classes and ultimately student will get confidence.
    4. So, in my opinion private coaching classes are not destroying education but our own will power destroying it by not focusing on development, as joining or not joining a coaching is our will.

      Hello firends,
i think the coaching culture is destroying the education system. They promote themselves as they are giving best education that cannot be given in school. At some point of time it seems right but then you go to schools most of the students are getting failed in class xi beacuse they don’t know the basic concepts as they are just solving numericals and mathematical parts and basics are missing.
The promotions are done on such a huge level that a students think that without these coachings they cannot survive in the education system but my question is when there were no coaching in india then did the students don’t get selected in IIT’S or they don’t get selected in medical entrance exams?
If you go deep in statistics you will find that the ratio of students getting selected is not increased.
One more complaint i have that why an entrance exam is taking place before board exams through which the student will take admission in engineering college if he gets passed in boards?
This coaching culture should be stopped and the pattern of entrance exams should also needs to be improved.

      Hello friends
I think in this modern scenario students are the ones who play a major role in selecting the coaching institutes in order to fulfill their goals. But there are also situations like a student attend coaching instuites due to the pressure of their parents. The one who has gone only because of their parents pressure may feel stressed in attending the classes because it feel like them for going for a thing the actually don’t need .

Well coaching centres are useful to some extent while preparing for competitive examinations. But it takes lots of money in the view of completing the syllabus but mostly coaching centres are not completed syllabus at time and lots thousands of rupees from us. But coaching centres are really useful for those students who are not able to do self study due to parental pressurize. As coaching centres provides various study material to students and make surroundings of learning, studying and competing with other students. In many coaching institutes there are approx 50 students out of these whoever is at the top ,only those students crack competitive exams. And other students doing only waste of time and money of their parents as coaching institute does not provide attention to all of them and make them fooling . And they used to advertise their former topper students and force new students to join their coaching institutes. At last I want to conclude that those who are capable of doing self stude at home and learn from internet they don’t needed to join coaching institute otherwise you should take for making better future. Thanks
